Sir Henry Ramsay, founder Khali Estate,
retired from the services and home beckoned him. But
his home was, no longer, far away England. Home now
was 25 virgin acres of Khali.
Mr. Wilson, another Britisher was as inspired when he
took over the Estate.
For eight long years, he created his dream of building
a home.
Sandstone pillars.
Seasoned pine for the floors. Granite walls. And many
warm firesides.
Enchanted by the serenity and calm of Khali, Mahatma
Gandhi established an Ashram which he named as Shail
Ashram which existed for five years.
Surrounded by orchards of luscious plums and peaches.
The illustrious Nehru family were enchanted with Khali
and spent memorable holidays in this very paradise.
Thirty thousand times since Sir Henry discovered Khali
has the sun peeped over the Himalayas to cast its gold
beams on shimmering snow-clad peaks. Bathing Khali’s
hills and dales with majestic beauty that can only be
specially reserved for the Gods.
